I agree with David Elmes, the complexity revolving around the energy industry cannot be ignored. The UK energy industry has evolved tremendously is the past few years, we now operate on a global scale as the UK generation mix is moving away from the traditional source of energy to new resources. During this winter, the big freeze has raised fears that Britain could run short of gas after the National Grid issued a number of warning over swelling demand. Reduced North Sea gas reserves are leading to a larger reliance to international markets, namely the Dutch, Norwegian and LNG from countries like Qatar and Algeria. In order to solve global energy issues, companies and regulators need bright energy professionals equipped with intangible skills and understand the energy industry on a global scale. Warwick Global Energy MBA is simply one of the best program in the world that enables managers to gain in-depth energy knowledge whilst continuing to deliver in their professional environment.

Hello,
I am interested in obtaining a Master's degree with specifications leaning towards the oil and gas industry. I graduated in 2008 with a 3.2 gpa, with a bachelor's degree in Business Management. I have been working @ an oil and gas company in Denver for a little over a year now. Not sure what you acceptance qualifactions are for you school but it sounds like something I would be very interested in. Please let me know if acceptance into your institution is at all feasible.
I am a Columbia University alumnus. Professor Horton rightly says that business graduates who want to be social enterprisers are now entering operating units at business organizations. I am originally from Pakistan, where we cannot afford any economic development without sustainability. Especially in those areas where cultural and environmental considerations are to be given priority, we need a storng CSR element for economic development.

Interesting interview. As an "older" student who attended a part-time program at a top-ten school, I want to make a couple of points regarding career-switching.

First, even though older students may not be as interested in internships, they should be aware that switching careers may require them to go the extra mile to prove their mettle; I knew several people who ended up quitting their jobs to do an internship in order to make contacts and gain practical experience in the industry they were trying to switch to. If you don't do this, you may actually be at a competitive disadvantage compared to full-time students.

Second, it's important to look into a school's career services. Our school offered substantially less in the way of career services for part-time students, which came as a shock and disappointment to those of us who expected the same level of service.
